Typical London trip

A typical London trip

This depends on whether you are getting a coach or a train to London.

Coach Trip

The coach leaves Margate/Whitstable at around 07:30/08:00am in the morning.

We can either stop at Greenwich and walk down to the Cutty Sark where we get the clipper boat for the river boat tour along the Thames from Greenwich to Embankment.

From Embankment we do a walking tour and see the sites of:

- London Eye
- Westminster Bridge
- Big Ben Houses of Parliament
- Westminster Abbey
- Parliament Square
- 10 Downing Street
- Horse Guards (changing of the guard)
- St James Park
- Buckingham Palace
- Trafalgar Square – Nelson’s Column
- Covent Garden – free time

Train Trip

Groups tend to leave Margate at around 08:00 and go to London Victoria

- Buckingham palace
- St James Park
- Horse Guards
- 10 Downing Street – Parliament square
- West Minster Abbey
- Big Ben
- Embankment walk
- Whitehall
- Covent Garden – free time

We can add in additional visits as per requests from the agent/school. So, if they want to go to a museum then we can always add that in but we never take young groups to Oxford Street and do the walking tour as, A) it’s too busy and B) there is not enough time.

I would advise that if they would like a shopping trip we can do either 2 London trips or stop off at Bluewater/Lakeside on the way home. We do also emphasise that Canterbury is the place to go shopping.
